First Day of Fall | Macallan

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wondered why people always drink whisky straight up in the movies? As a film fan I have always watched a lot of movies, and I have always wanted to be just like the heroes, pulling a whisky bottle out of a cabinet in a moment of high drama or celebration. I remember watching one of my favourite Bond films "Skyfall", where Bond and the villain are seen toasting with a 50-year-old Macallan. Harvey Specter in "Suits" is always seen drinking Macallan in his office when he is either trying to solve a problem or celebrating a victory in court. To me, if a man makes a good whisky his drink of choice, you know he’s got his head on straight. He sees the beauty in things and takes time to appreciate everything.
With the arrival of fall, I have begun searching for the perfect whisky to enjoy on crisp autumn evenings. I am in love with my Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Old, crafted from the perfect balance of American and European sherry-seasoned casks. This is a rich whisky that combines fruity citrus and caramel with spicy ginger and nutmeg. I have to say I finally know how to appreciate a fine whisky after a long day of work. There’s something about the strength and feel of the drink on my tongue and the roof of my mouth that instantly delights my senses. I highly recommend this bottle if you are looking for a fine single malt scotch whisky to add to your collection.
